Hi friends! How are you all? Today I am sharing my views on the latest Telugu movie Tammudu starring Nithiin. I watched the movie on the first day and here is my honest review.
Overview
Thammudu is an emotional action drama. The movie is about brotherly bond, village politics and how a common man fights powerful villains to save his people.
The movie was released in theaters on July 4, 2025 and many people are giving it mixed reviews. Some liked it for the emotions, but some felt that the story was not that new.

Story Summary (No Spoilers)
Jay (Nithin) is a villager who loves his sister more than anything. He wants to become an archery champion but one day his village faces a big problem due to a greedy businessman. The main story is how Jay fights and saves his family and village.

Lead Actors Performance
- Nithiin did a very good job. He showed good emotions in brother-sister scenes and action parts also nice.
- Sapthami Gowda is looking cute and natural. For her first Telugu film, she acted very well.
- Varsha Bollamma impressed me with her performance in sensitive passages.
- Laya as elder sister gave a graceful and emotional performance.
- Saurabh Sachdeva is okay as villain, but his role is not that strong.
Technical aspects
- Ajaneesh Loknath’s music is very good. The background music in the emotional scenes kept the audience entertained.
- Cinematography is very good. The village visuals and fight sequences are beautifully shot.
- Editing is okay but the second half felt a bit slow.
- Direction is good but the story is predictable.
Box office collections
- First day collection: Around ₹8 crore (India)
- Worldwide break-even: Around ₹25 crore required
- The film has started better than Nithiin’s last film.
OTT release details
Thammudu digital rights are with Netflix. It will be aired from August 4, 2025. Satellite rights are with Star Maa channel.

Second Half Slow and Predictable
Villain Character Not Strong
Final Verdict
Thammudu is a good family action drama. If you like emotional movies about brothers, you might enjoy it. But don’t expect a new story. Give it a watch for Nithin fans.
