Constable (2025) Telugu Movie Review – Varun Sandesh Back With Honest Performance

Hi friends! Today I am going to talk about the latest Telugu movie “Constable (2025)” starring Varun Sandesh. Yes, the same guy who once won hearts with his charming smile is now back in a serious role as a cop. The movie is directed by Aryan Subhan S.K and it is like a rural crime thriller full of emotions and suspense.

Now, I have seen this movie, and I have to tell you honestly — it is not a big budget movie, but it has a small town vibe that feels somewhat real. So let’s get into the story, acting and the rest, shall we?

Story & Summary

So, the movie starts in a small village where Kashi (Varun Sandesh) works as a Police constable. He’s honest, simple, and just wants peace in his life. But guess what? Things go upside down when some strange murders happen in the village.

One of those victims is someone close to him, and from there his peaceful life turns into a nightmare. With the help of Mahati (Madhulika Varanasi), who secretly likes him, Kashi starts digging into the case. As the story goes forward, he finds that even people he trusted are hiding something.

The story got emotion, crime, and village drama. It tries to mix all that, but sometimes it gets a bit slow. Still, it keeps your interest mostly because of Varun’s performance.

Direction and Screenplay

Aryan Subhan SK has come up with a good idea, I would say. The concept of a small town cop fighting crimes is good. But the problem is the writing. Some scenes feel too long and some dialogues feel a bit unnatural. The emotional parts could have been more touching.

You can see the effort, but the execution doesn’t always work perfectly. However, the director should be praised for trying something different and not making it too commercial.

Cinematography

Now, this is one area that I really liked. The visuals are clean and realistic. The camera work brings out that rural Telugu countryside atmosphere – dusty roads, green fields, and quiet nights with background tension. Honestly, it is shot well. Even though the film does not have a big budget, some shots are really cinematic.

Editing and Pacing

The editing is okay but not tight enough. The first half moves slowly, maybe too slowly at times. Some unnecessary scenes could have been easily cut. The second half becomes more interesting with investigation and emotions. Yes, it is uneven but not completely boring.

Music and Background Score

The music by Subhash Anand and Gyanni is good. The songs are okay, not very catchy but not bad. The background score helps with the suspense. It gives the film the intensity it needs. In some scenes where the tension builds, the music really works well.

Performances

Now let’s talk about the actors.

  • Varun Sandesh — Man, he really did a nice job here. You can feel that he wanted to prove himself again. His acting as Kashi is emotional, grounded, and real. He carries the whole movie on his shoulders.
  • Madhulika Varanasi — She looks good and plays her part decently. But her role could’ve been stronger, I think.
  • The supporting cast like Ravi Varma, Muralidhar Goud, and Duvvasi Mohan do justice to their parts, even though they don’t get too much screen time.

Overall, performance-wise, it’s a decent effort by everyone.

Technical aspects

Technically, the film looks good. The camerawork and lighting are impressive for a small film. You can see that they didn’t waste money on unnecessary things. The production is limited, but the director uses what he has wisely.

Box Office Report

So yeah, when it comes to collections, This Movie didn’t do much magic at the box office.

  • Day 1: Around ₹3 lakhs
  • Day 2: Around ₹1 lakh
  • Total Run: Roughly ₹4 lakhs

That’s honestly too low. The movie didn’t attract much crowd in theatres. But who knows, maybe on OTT it might get some love later.

What Works and What Doesn’t

Positives:

  • Varun Sandesh’s performance
  • Realistic village atmosphere
  • Some good emotional and suspense scenes
  • Honest attempt by the team

Negatives:

  • Slow narration in the first half
  • Predictable twists
  • Weak female lead writing
  • Not a theatre-friendly commercial film

Rating:  2.5 / 5

Final

So friends, this movie is not a mass entertainer but it is an honest attempt. It has emotion, a good message and a genuine performance by Varun Sandesh. The story is good, but the screenplay could have been tighter.

If you enjoy slow, realistic crime dramas set in small towns, you might like it. But if you are expecting big action or strong twists – this is not for you.

Verdict: Give it a watch for Varun Sandesh’s effort and simple storytelling. Not perfect, but not bad either.
