Anupama’s Paradha – Movie Review
Hi friends, today let’s talk about Paradha, Anupama Parameswaran’s latest film. It is not just a simple drama, it is like an emotional journey filled with a social message.

Story & Themes
So the film takes place in a small village where women are forced to follow very strict traditions. Our main character Subbalakshmi (played by Anupama) is trapped under a curse – the women of that village have to hide their faces. But something happens and she decides to move out of the village. From there, she embarks on a journey through the Himalayas with her aunt Ratnamma and a young architect Amy. Each of them is fighting their own battles.
There is a lot of symbolism in this film. There is a dialogue – many people climb mountains and die but their bodies become landmarks for others. It is a simple but very powerful way to show the struggle of women.
Basically the whole story is about superstition, gender discrimination and how women fight for freedom. It is a serious topic, but the director does not make it boring or didactic.

Performances
Now coming to the performances:
- Anupama Parameswaran: Honestly, this is one of her best roles till date. She is very natural, we can feel both her pain and her courage.
- Darshana Rajendran: This is her first Telugu movie and she did really well. She bring freshness and confidence, also adds little humor at places.
- Sangeetha Krish: Even with less screen time, she make a good impact. She carry emotion and little comedy too.
Technically
The visuals are beautiful, especially those Himalayan scenes, with which we feel like we are also travelling. The cinematography is top notch. The music also suits the mood, some songs stay in your mind even after the movie is over. The editing is okay, maybe the second half feels a bit slow but the overall production quality is strong.
Audience response
Many are saying that the film is refreshing and different. There is a lot of praise for Anupama’s performance. Many people liked the visuals and the background score. But yes, some people felt that the second half dragged a bit and the first half was not as engaging.
Final Verdict
So overall, Paradha is a meaningful female-centric drama. It is not your regular mass entertainer, but if you like films with a message and strong performances, it is worth watching.
Rating: 3.5/5 – A nice and emotional film, a bit slow at parts but still memorable.
